Operation Barking Squirrel

Our History

We both have worked with rescue and fostered many dogs and cats. We started this nonprofit with a few more friends to assist and are very appreciative of all the support and help for the animals we all love.
You can help make a difference!

We have amazing volunteers doing everything they can to help this organization operate, but we can't do this without your help. Operation Barking Squirrel is a registered non profit and your full donation will go to helping pets from all around the country.
Senior and Long Term Foster

We are promoting available dogs and cats that might be over looked because of their age or foster status.
Microchips and Microchip Registration

It is our goal to microchip and register at least 50 dogs or cats a month. Microchips can be expensive and we would prefer to offer free chips for all. All pets should be chipped so they can make it back home, but unfortunately that isn't reality. We want to make that happen.
Transportation

You fall in love with a dog or cat to realize they are a state away or more. That's when you check the costs and realize how expensive transport is. We are USDA Certified Transporters and will offer low cost transportation or help fundraise for an individual trip.

Who We Are

OPERATION BARKING SQUIRREL is a Texas registered nonprofit that is seeking to fill the gaps in dog and cat rescue. We believe that all pets in rescue deserve a home of their own and we want to make that happen. We all see the pets that have been surrendered or dumped in Texas due to age, breed and no microchip to get them back to their parent, and, sometimes, no transportation to get them home.
